 AG Moves to Decongest  Anambra Correctional Centres as Controller of Corrections Pays Visit. By Chinelo Okeke The Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke SAN, has reiterated his commitment to decongest correctional centres across the state through speedy dispensation of justice. Nweke made this known when the Anambra State Controller of Corrections, Ezinne Emele Onuoha, paid him a courtesy visit in his chambers at the Ministry of Justice, Awka. Speaking during the meeting, the Attorney General said many inmates remained in correctional facilities without trial, while some families were unaware of the whereabouts of their relatives in custody. He directed that a comprehensive inventory of inmates in all correctional centres in the state be compiled, especially awaiting-trial inmates, those granted bail but yet to perfect their bail conditions, those denied bail and remanded, as well as convicted persons serving various jail terms. Fintiri Honours Super Falcons Coach Justine Madugu with House, N50 Million for WAFCON Victory


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State honoured Coach Justine Madugu of the Super Falcons with a three-bedroom bungalow and a cash reward of fifty million naira for leading the Nigerian women's national football team to victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.


Coach Madugu, from Numan Local Government Area, received a warm welcome at the Government House in Yola. Governor Fintiri praised his patriotism, tactical intelligence, and leadership, noting that Nigeria won the WAFCON title for a record 10th time under his guidance.


While presenting the gifts, Fintiri reaffirmed his commitment to developing sports in the state, highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects like modern stadiums. He encouraged Madugu to mentor young talents in Adamawa.


An emotional Madugu expressed gratitude for the recognition and shared his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for his state, emphasising the need for greater support for women in sports.
