FORMER SUPER FALCONS STRIKER SAYS OBASANJO'S GOVT ROBBED THEM

Former Super Falcons striker, Patience Odeli, said the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo did not reward them as much as President Bola Tinubu's administration has rewarded the team that won the 2024 WAFCON tournament in Morocco.

“Promises in the regime of President Olusegun Obasanjo were worthless, whilst some NFF officials led by Amaju Pinnick and coaches sat on our little bonuses and kits," she said. "Amaju repeatedly asked some of us to send our account details without paying us till date.”

Odeli revealed her Super Falcons team won the Women’s African Cup of Nations four times and featured in four FIFA Women’s World Cups. She added many of her former colleagues are suffering today because they were not duly compensated over time.

“I served Nigeria for 13 years and we were never accorded the honour we deserve," she lamented. "Instead, we got empty promises, golden handshakes, golden cards, and N300,000. We were promised landed properties that we never received.”
