 Magnitude 5.5 earthquake strikes eastern Egypt A magnitude 5.5 earthquake shook eastern Egypt early Monday, prompting authorities to activate response plans, although there were no immediate requests for emergency help. The tremors were felt across a wide area, waking residents across Cairo and reaching as far as El-Arish near Egypt's border with the Gaza Strip. The quake struck about 40 kilometres north of the city of Suez at 3:00 am (0000 GMT), according to Egypt's National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, which revised an earlier estimate of 5.2.

 France Football Unveils 2025 Ballon d’Or Nominees


France Football, the prestigious organizers of the Ballon d’Or, announced the shortlist for the 2025 award on Thursday, revealing a star-studded lineup of football talent. The nominees, selected by prominent journalists across Europe, were shared across France Football’s social media platforms.


The list features standout players including Ousmane Dembele (Paris Saint-Germain), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), and Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal). The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on September 22, where the winner will be crowned.
