 Prince Harry leaves African Parks board after charity admitted rangers committed human rights abuses Prince Harry has left the board of African Parks after nearly a decade with the conservation charity, a year after the organization acknowledged that some of its rangers had committed human rights abuses. A spokesperson for Harry, 41, confirmed his departure while emphasizing that his work in African conservation will continue. “The Duke is proud of his 10 years with African Parks and fully supports the ongoing strengthening of its Board,” the spokesperson said. “His commitment to conservation in Africa continues, and he remains a supporter of African Parks’ mission.” Harry first partnered with African Parks in 2016 and became president of the organization the following year.  Kebbi Govt. appoints Sanusi Mika'ilu Sami as new Emir of Zuru 


The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has approved the appointment of Sanusi Mika'ilu Sami as the new Emir of Zuru.


Presenting the letter to the new Emir on Thursday in Zuru, the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Garba Umar Dutsin-Mari said the appointment was based on recommendation of the election committee.


He said out of the three candidates that applied for the position and screened by the Zuru Emirate Emir-ship election committee, Alhaji Sanusi Mika'ilu Sami got the highest votes to clinch the throne.


The commissioner said the appointment of the new Emir was due to the demise of His Royal Highness, late Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami Gomo II, who passed away on Aug. 16, 2025 at a London hospital.


Dutsin-Mari thanked the Kebbi State Governor for approving the appointment of the new Emir and urged the new royal father to justify the confidence reposed in him.


He advised the new monarch to discharge his responsibilities diligently with the fear of God Almighty.
