 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  LAWYER GIVES NBC 30 DAYS DEADLINE TO REGULATE BIG BROTHER NAIJA 


A human rights lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, has given the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) 30 days to ban Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) or restrict its audience reach.


Idam said BBNaija Season 10 which kicked off on July 28 promotes obscenities, indecency, and profane content that audience below 18 can watch and imbibe to the detriment of society.


The lawyer said the show is "characterised with brazen exhibition of real-time obscene and pornographic actions" and that"the danger such a programme poses to public decency and morality" is high. 


"The NBC is by this letter urged to within 30 days regulate the “Big Brother Naija” programme by permitting it only to be aired on highly restricted channels, reversed for its target audience and also prohibiting the sharing or dissemination of the explicit contents by the host company, on social media.


“Take notice that in the event of failure to comply with the demand herein, I shall be constrained to seek necessary redress in the Court of competent jurisdiction,” he wrote.
