 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  LAWYER GIVES NBC 30 DAYS DEADLINE TO REGULATE BIG BROTHER NAIJA 


A human rights lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, has given the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) 30 days to ban Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) or restrict its audience reach.


Idam said BBNaija Season 10 which kicked off on July 28 promotes obscenities, indecency, and profane content that audience below 18 can watch and imbibe to the detriment of society.


The lawyer said the show is "characterised with brazen exhibition of real-time obscene and pornographic actions" and that"the danger such a programme poses to public decency and morality" is high. 


"The NBC is by this letter urged to within 30 days regulate the “Big Brother Naija” programme by permitting it only to be aired on highly restricted channels, reversed for its target audience and also prohibiting the sharing or dissemination of the explicit contents by the host company, on social media.


“Take notice that in the event of failure to comply with the demand herein, I shall be constrained to seek necessary redress in the Court of competent jurisdiction,” he wrote.
