 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Mama Rainbow to mark 83rd birthday, 60 years in movie industry with tour of 3 countries

    

Idowu Philips, the veteran actress better known as Mama Rainbow, is set to celebrate her 83rd birthday and 60 years in the movie industry with a special tour across three countries.

The actress announced plans for her forthcoming celebrations via an Instagram post on Thursday.

She reflected on her six-decade journey, calling it “remarkable” and framing the upcoming celebration as more than a birthday.

She described it as “a tribute to her legacy, her strength, and the joy she has shared with many”.

To mark this dual milestone, the 82-year-old screen legend will embark on a tour across three nations: Egypt, the United States, and Canada.

“This year, we are celebrating a very special occasion – 60 years on stage and my 83 years of life, filled with good health, love and blessings. To honor a remarkable journey, planned a beautiful trip beginning in Cairo and traveling through the United States all the way to Canada,” she wrote.

“This celebration is more than just a birthday, it is a tribute to her legacy, her strength and the joy she has shared with many people over the years. Every step of the journey reflects spirit vibrant, graceful and full of life.

“May this milestone year be the beginning of even more wonderful moments, continued health and happiness for me. Amen”.

While the announcement has generated much excitement, Mama Rainbow has not yet revealed the specific dates for her tour.

Born on October 16, 1942, in the city of Ijebu Ode, Ogun Mama Rainbow, who started acting in the 70s, remains a treasured figure in Nollywood.
