 Emefiele:  Finance Ministry Unaware of N124.86bn CBN Withdrawal,   Witness Tells Court   A Director in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Ali Mohammed, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, told the Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, that the Ministry was not aware of the withdrawal of N124.86 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.   Mohammed, who testified as the prosecution witness 10, PW10, in the ongoing trial of the former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this while being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Abbas Mohammed.   The witness said he appeared before the court because his Ministry received a letter from the investigation team concerning N154 billion said to have been withdrawn by the CBN.   Explaining his position and responsibilities in the Ministry, Mohammed said, “My Lord, the Department of Home Finance is made up of three functions based in three divisions, that is State and Public...

 Marafa resigns from APC, accuses party of betrayal, disunity


Former Zamfara Central Senator, Kabiru Marafa, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC.


Marafa said he resigned from the APC because the ruling party betrayed its members.


Addressing his supporters in a video, the former lawmaker accused the party of dividing its members in Zamfara State.


Speaking in Hausa, Marafa said the betrayal and division within the APC were severe.


He disclosed that he decided to resign from the APC after days of consultation.


Marafa said: “I want to use this medium to inform my supporters in Zamfara state, north and Nigeria as a whole that after a series of meetings with my people for about two days regarding the issue of politics starting from two years back of the APC government, we feel it is necessary to inform the public that APC as a party has betrayed and cheated us in Zamfara state and Nigeria.


“In the state, the betrayal is at its highest peak because since Bala Buni took over the affairs of the party from former governor Matawalle, they have not held a single meeting up till this moment.


“The party has been divided into two parts: one part is for Bala Buni and the other is for Matawalle. This is two years and six months now, we ask them to resolve their differences, and nothing has been done.”
