🇳🇴 Daniel Daga Sentenced by Norwegian Court, Appeals Verdict Molde FK midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The Nigerian midfielder joined Molde FK from Enyimba just a year ago as one of the promising young talents to move from the NPFL to Europe. However, Daga has appealed the ruling through his lawyer, meaning the decision is not yet legally final and the case will continue through the Norwegian judicial system. Molde FK have also confirmed that the midfielder will not be included in the club’s matchday squad until further notice while the legal process continues.

NIGER GOV ORDERS CLOSURE OF BADEGGI RADIO OVER INCITEMENT

Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State ordered the closure of Badeggi FM Radio on Friday for inciting violence.

The governor also called for the authorities to revoke the licence of the media station for fomenting trouble for his administration.

Chief Press Secretary to Bago, Bologi Ibrahim,  said the governor equally directed the Commissioner for Homeland Security and the Commissioner of Police to seal the radio station, and called for its owner to be profiled.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International (AI) has criticized Governor Bago for his "lawless and repressive order."

"Governor Bago must immediately withdraw his unlawful order," AI stated. "Under Nigerian laws the governor has no power to order the closure of a radio station. Choosing to bizarrely blame a radio station for the inexcusable security failures of the government is an open attack on media freedom."
