Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry.  NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPING KINGPIN ARRESTED IN OROKAM, BENUE STATE

30th August, 2025

Security forces in Benue State have recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against criminality with the arrest of a notorious kidnapping gang leader, identified as Yusuf Muhamed, in Orokam, Ogbadibo Local Government Area.

Muhamed was captured on Monday after a dramatic chase by a security team led by DSP Stephen Ubobong. His identity was confirmed by three victims who had previously been abducted, describing him as the “OC Torture” in the kidnappers’ camp. He was easily recognized due to his deformed left hand.

The arrest comes amid rising cases of kidnapping and banditry in the Orokam axis, which recently led the Ogbadibo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sunday Ajunwa, to declare a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the area. A tactical squad comprising the Nigerian Police Mobile Force and men of the Civil Protection Guard was subsequently deployed, leading to the arrest of over twenty suspects.

While residents are celebrating Muhamed’s arrest as a huge relief, some victims have expressed concerns that he might be released if corruption plays out within the system. They are calling on the Inspector General of Police to ensure that justice is served and the suspect is duly prosecuted.

Reacting via telephone, Hon. Ajunwa commended the security team for their resilience and dedication, assuring that efforts would continue until peace is fully restored in Orokam.
