 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity.  PAUL BIYA CONTESTS FOR 8TH TERM AT AGE 92


The president of Cameroon, Paul Biya, may win another 7-year term in office if he wins his country's general elections on October 12.


Biya is contesting for president again after spending nearly 43 years in power and at the current age of 92. 


If he wins in October, he'll complete his 8th term at 99 and may be tempted to run again. He is already the oldest president in the world.


This follows the loss of Akere Muna from the Universe Party to disqualify Biya from contesting again at the constitutional court. Muna is one of 12 candidates contesting the vote.

    Let his wife become president after him,then followed by his children , grand children and great grand children because there is no one else who is capable in the whole country.
