 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity.  Pennsylvania school bus carrying middle school football team overturns, several hurt


A school bus carrying the Aliquippa Middle School football team crashed Saturday morning in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, leaving multiple people injured.

County officials confirmed that 21 individuals sustained injuries in the accident. The Aliquippa Junior High Football team later posted on social media that all players had left the scene and were being evaluated, asking the community to keep the students and coaches in their thoughts.

The team had been scheduled to play its first game of the season at 11 a.m. against Pine-Richland High School, with the bus originally set to depart at 9:30 a.m. Details about the timing and cause of the crash have not yet been released. One person was airlifted to a hospital, while others were transported by standard ambulance.
