 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  POLICE ARREST SECURITY GUARD FOR MASTERMINDING BURGLARY, RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS


Detectives of Iju Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a security guard for conspiracy, house breaking, and stealing, with exhibits recovered.


On 15th August 2025, a resident of the Ifako area reported that upon returning home, he discovered his house had been broken into by unknown persons. Stolen items included one Sumec generator, one Fireman generator, one National air conditioner and three air conditioner compressor engines, all valued at ₦1,785,000 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Naira).


Following investigation, detectives arrested one Yisa Hassan aged 38, a security guard in the same neighborhood. Further investigations revealed that the suspect conspired with others still at large to commit the crime. Stolen items have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices. The case will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh assures Lagos residents that the Command will leave no stone unturned in bringing criminal elements to justice while urging them to always do proper background checks of employees before engaging them.
