 EASTER SECURITY ASSESSMENT: ANAMBRA POLICE EXPRESS CONCERN OVER MASKED SECURITY PERSONNEL PROTECTING VIPs, WARN OF SECURITY RISKS The Anambra State Police Command has expressed serious concern over the growing trend of some security operatives concealing their identities while providing protection to Very Important Personalities (VIPs) within the State. The Command notes that while security duties often require tactical discretion, the act of masking identities without proper authorization raises significant security concerns. Such practices, it observed, not only pose a potential threat to public safety but also undermine trust, accountability, and the integrity of inter-agency collaboration. PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES  CEO, TWO COMMISSIONERS FOR NERC


President Bola Tinubu has nominated  Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the new Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).


Engr Ramat, 39, is an electrical engineer and administrator, with a PhD in Strategic Management, among other qualifications.


President Tinubu also nominated two commissioners for the NERC. 


They are Mr Abubakar Yusuf, Commissioner of Consumer  Affairs and Dr Fouad Olayinka Animashun, Commissioner of Finance and Management Services. 


All nominations are subject to Senate confirmation.


The commission's acting chairman will continue to hold his position until the confirmation of the new chairman-designate.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
