 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Foreign Nationals Break Into Farm, Steal Livestock and Vehicles in Delmas


A group of armed foreign nationals allegedly broke into a farm near the Kusile Power Station in Delmas on Thursday, 14 August 2025, and made off with several stolen items.


According to Tshenolo PI Security, five suspects forcefully entered the premises during the early hours of the morning and stole:


 • A silver Ford Ranger Club Cab

 • A silver BMW loaded with 50 egg-laying chickens

 • 11 sheep

 • A blue and black generator

 • A silver fridge

 • A pair of jumper cables

 • Five cellphones


With the assistance of a tracking company, law enforcement traced the stolen Ford Ranger, BMW, and a silver Mazda believed to have been used in the crime. The vehicles were spotted along the R42 between Bronkhorstspruit and Delmas.


A high-speed chase followed, forcing the suspects to abandon the BMW. While police secured the abandoned car, the chase continued into eTwatwa, Daveyton, where the suspects eventually fled on foot, leaving behind the Ford Ranger with 11 sheep and 50 chickens still inside.


Further investigation led to the arrest of one undocumented foreign national who had been driving a Mazda Etude used during the robbery. Police later recovered more stolen property in Bronkhorstspruit.


Authorities have confirmed that more arrests are expected as investigations continue.
