 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Massive Manhunt Launched After Prisoner Escapes Custody in Thohoyandou


The Police in Thohoyandou, under the Vhembe District, have launched a massive manhunt for an awaiting-trial prisoner, Muluvhu Gumani (34), who allegedly escaped from lawful custody on Monday, 25 August 2025, at around 08:50.


Gumani was initially arrested for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm. Preliminary reports indicate that police were transporting thirteen awaiting-trial prisoners to the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court when the incident occurred. At a traffic light intersection, one of the suspects allegedly forced open the police vehicle door and fled on foot.


Police have appealed to members of the community not to attempt to apprehend the suspect themselves for safety reasons.


Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the escapee is urged to contact Detective Captain Sydney Dama on 082 469 1035.
