 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump.  BENUE: NOTIFICATION OF THE INDEFINITE SUSPENSION OF THE STUDENTS UNION PRESIDENT

This is to formally notify the Rev. Fr.  Moses Orshio Adasu University community and the general public, that the Students Union President, Comr. Tivkaa Evelyn Terwanger has been suspended indefinitely.


The House at its plenary session on Tuesday, 12th August, 2025, resolved unanimously to suspend the president on the grounds of forgery, criminal impersonation, gross misconduct and misappropriation of funds. 


Ipso facto, the suspended president has been directed to immediately handover the Students Union properties in her custody to the Vice President Comr. Ogberu Emmanuel Abi who shall step in as the Acting President of the Union, pending the conclusion of investigations.


The general public is hereby advised not to transact any business with Comr. Tivkaa Evelyn Terwanger in the capacity of the MOAUM Students Union president.


The Parliament reiterates its resolve to continually uphold the tenets of transparency and accountability for the collective well-being of all MOAUM students.
