 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, *CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD*, has condemned in the strongest terms the heartless and barbaric act which is currently trending in the social media. This follows a trending video of a tragic incident involving the abduction of a young boy and his two sisters in the State, which led to the cruel murder of the boy by suspected kidnappers.


The *CP* while condoling with the grieving family as well as the good people of Amansea, ordered the Operatives of the State Intelligence Department to identify the survivor to assist the Police in its Investigation. The Command urges members of the public to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative by providing credible information that will aid the swift arrest of the suspects. 


The *CP* reiterated the Command's resolve to remain firm in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State. He further assured that the Command will continue to prioritize the protection of every citizen in line with the constitutional responsibility of safeguarding lives and property.
