 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Two Horrific Murders Shock Nkuzana Village


Nkuzana village was left reeling on Saturday afternoon, 09 August 2025, after two horrific incidents of murder unfolded at Nkuna Kraal Mall at around 15h00.


According to reports, a female police sergeant was out with two adults and her six-year-old child when her estranged husband, from whom she had been separated for about seven months, approached her.


An argument is alleged to have erupted between the two, during which the husband drew a service firearm and shot the woman in the upper body. As he attempted to run to his vehicle to flee, members of the community who had witnessed the incident chased him down, assaulted him, and set him alight next to his vehicle. The vehicle was also burnt beyond recognition.


Police later confirmed that both the male and female deceased were sergeants, the man attached to the Thohoyandou K9 Unit, and the woman stationed at the Beit Bridge port of entry.


The police have opened murder cases and are calling on anyone with information that could assist in identifying the suspects involved in the assault and burning to contact Detective Sergeant Stanley Chauke on 072 554 3141.
