 Today, as I celebrate my 61st birthday, my heart is incredibly full. For eight of these celebrations, I have had the rare privilege of serving as your Governor. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this extraordinary state and its people. The journey has been demanding, humbling and deeply rewarding. Leading a state as dynamic and energetic as Lagos is no small task. It has taught me more about resilience and patience than any other chapter in my life. I am filled with gratitude today, gratitude for life, for family, for health and for the enduring trust of Lagosians. Public service has its challenging days but the privilege of building a greater Lagos makes every single moment worth it. We have come a long way together yet the work never stops. As I celebrate today, my commitment to you remains as strong as ever. There is still more to do, more to build and more progress to achieve for everyone who calls this great state home.  TWO TEENAGE GIRLS MURDERED IN KOGI


Residents of Igalamela/Odolu LGA Kogi State reported that assailants murdered two of their teenage girls on Wednesday. 


The girls were identified as Ajuma Simon and Omojo Shuaibu. They were on their way from the market in Ega before they were attacked along a bush path. 


“As at the time we got to the scene, one of the victims was still breathing," an eyewitness reported. "She told us that the armed men came with the intention to rape or kidnap them.


“But the assailants chased them for about 300 meters before they caught up with them, macheted and butchered them beyond recognition."
