Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  Ujari Monarch Announces 30th August 2025 As Royal New Yam Festival For The Community

The Traditional Ruler of Ujari(Ajalli) in Orumba North LGA,  HRH Igwe Austin Chukwudebere Nwangwu( Eze Ohazurumee Ujari Koko- Obasi) has announced 30th day of August 2025 as the official day for the celebration of his new yam festival.


In a press briefing in Awka ahead of the event,Igwe Nwangwu noted that the event will provide a forum for the exhibition of the cultural heritage of the community.


The royal father further announced that the occasion will feature the celebration of his 2 years anniversary as a certified traditional ruler following the receipt of a certificate of recognition from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.


He used the forum to appreciate Governor Soludo for the positive transformation of the 3 Senatorial Zones of the state and acknowledged with joy his recent coronation with the  Chieftaincy Title"Oluatuegwu'  by the Anambra South Traditional Rulers Council in Ekwulobia which he deserves given his rapid transformation of the state.


He conveyed his unalloyed support for the governor and his wish that he should be re-elected for a second term in office to continue his good works.


Igwe Nwangwu further applauded the rising profile of APGA and the return of Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo to the party fold.
