 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  NEMA DG Leads Response to Abuja–Kaduna Train Derailment


The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, led the Agency’s rescue team to the site of a train derailment along the Abuja–Kaduna rail line close to the Idda sub-station. 


The incident occurred at 11a.m (local time) Teusday. Although no fatalities were recorded, seven passengers sustained varying degrees of injury. They were promptly administered first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical attention.


The rescue operation was a multi-agency effort coordinated by NEMA, with the swift support of the Nigerian military, the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps  whose vigilance and rapid response led to the smooth conduct  of the operation.
