A FAIRFIELD, ILLINOIS PASTOR AND COACH HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE S/A CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY RESTRAINING AND FORCING HIMSELF ON A TEENAGE MALE. (PHOTO).

A Fairfield, Illinois pastor and coach has been arrested and charged with multiple S/A charges after allegedly restraining and forcing himself on a teenage male.

I have spoken to individuals close to the case.

Chet Snyder is a 51-year-old resident of Fairfield, Illinois. He is the pastor at the Journey Church in Fairfield as well as a current coach for Frontier Community College.

The teenage male victim sought and was granted a no contact order against Chet Snyder after the forcible assault that occurred on Chet Snyder's property in Fairfield in late August. This order of protection was quickly granted by the Wayne County Circuit Court on August 20th after evidence and details of the assault were shared with the court.

After an investigation, Chet Snyder was arrested on September 4th, Thursday night by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and the Fairfield Police Department. The sheriff's department and city police also worked in a joint operation to search Chet Snyder's home and property.

Chet Snyder is being charged with unlawful restraint during the assault, criminal s**ual assault, and aggravated criminal s**ual assault.

Chet Snyder has been placed on paid administrative leave by Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. The college did note that it was not a student that was involved. Chet was previously a long-time Fairfield high school coach.

It is believed there may be other victims, if you have information that the police should know, please reach out to the Fairfield Police Department or the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. You will be listened to and believed.

Chet Snyder is currently in White County Jail although he was initially booked into Wayne County Jail.

Snyder has court on Monday and we will be updating this story.

Our thoughts are with the victim.
