Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence. A LOUISIANA MAN IS FACING CHARGES AFTER A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT LED HIM TO FATALLY SHOOT A 17-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WHO WAS 7 MONTHS PREGNANT IN THE HEAD. (PHOTO).

A Louisiana man is facing charges after a road rage incident led him to fatally shoot a 17-year-old woman who was 7 months pregnant in the head.

This ultimately took her life and forced doctors to perform an emergency c- section; which saved the baby's life.

This terrible and shocking incident occurred on Sunday, August 24th, near Ponchatoula, Louisiana. On that date, 17-year-old Katelynn Strate was a passenger in a Ford Expedition being driven by her boyfriend/ father of her child. At some point, 54-year-old Barry West, who was driving a Dodge truck, began to tailgate Katelynn's boyfriend. The two drivers  began to "brake check" each other. During the exchange, West became so enraged he fired a shot at the Expedition. Sadly, the bullet struck Katelynn in the head.

After the shooting, Katelynn's boyfriend rushed her to a nearby hospital. Doctors placed Katelynn on life support and performed an emergency c-section, saving the child's life.

Katelynn fought hard for her life.  Sadly, Katelynn passed away on Tuesday, August 26th.  The baby is in stable condition and is expected to survive.

When questioned, Barry West claimed he was fired on first and was forced to return fire in self-defense. However, law enforcement said there is "no evidence that any shots were fired from the Expedition and no firearm was found."

Barry West was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of second-degree homicide, illegal use of a weapon, obstruction of justice, and four counts of attempted homicide.

Our thoughts are with Katelynn and everyone she loved.
