 YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES ENROLLMENT OF RETIREES INTO THE STATES HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT  Yobe state government has approved the enrollment of the state and local government retirees into the state  contributory  Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) social equity programme, marking a significant milestone in the state's effort to strengthen social protection and expand access to quality healthcare .  ACCOUNTANT FOUND DEAD IN CAR IN ABUJA


10th September, 2025 


An accountant with the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Kasham Thomas, was on Monday found dead inside her car in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.


Her body, which bore stab wounds to the chest and stomach, was discovered along 35 Road. Police recovered a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, and an Apple Watch from the vehicle.


Officers from the Gwarinpa Division evacuated the body to Kubwa General Hospital after notifying her family.


Relatives said Ms. Thomas had earlier visited Karshi to pick up her children ahead of school resumption. She reportedly dropped them off at her home in Lugbe before leaving again later in the evening.


The case adds to recent incidents of violent crime in the FCT. Last week, a Bolt driver was found dead with a stab wound on the Gwarinpa–Kubwa Expressway, while another unidentified body was discovered in a car at the National Assembly complex.


Police have confirmed the incident and opened an investigation.
