 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. AKON’S WIFE, TOMEKA THIAM FILES FOR DIVORCE AFTER ALMOST 30 YEARS OF MARRIAGE.(PHOTO).

 Akon’s wife, Tomeka Thiam files for divorce after almost 30 years of marriage.


Tomeka Thiam filed for divorce from Akon on Sept. 11, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly 29 years of marriage. Court docs show she seeks joint legal custody, primary physical custody of their 17-year-old daughter, and spousal support. Akon has yet to comment on the matter.

ACCORDING TO ANOTHER SOURCE:

After almost three decades together, Akon’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, has decided to call it quits.

 

According to court filings, Tomeka says she married the singer back in September 1996 but is now pulling the plug on their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.


According TMZ, the couple share a 17-year-old child, and Tomeka is asking the court for joint legal custody while requesting physical custody. She is also seeking spousal support but at the same time asking the court to block Akon from receiving any spousal support himself.


Over the years, Akon has remained vague about how many “wives” he’s had, but Tomeka is officially making her position clear with this filing.

 

So far, Akon has not publicly reacted to the divorce news.
