 South Korean police seek arrest warrant for Hybe chairman Bang Si-Hyuk over alleged $100 million investor fraud scheme    South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant for Bang Si-Hyuk, the billionaire music executive behind K-pop powerhouse Hybe and BTS, as part of an expanding investigation into allegations that he improperly benefited from an investor scheme involving more than $100 million. Authorities said they have asked prosecutors to pursue a court warrant for Bang’s arrest as they continue probing claims that he misled investors in 2019. Investigators allege he told investors that Hybe had no plans for an initial public offering, leading them to sell shares to a private equity fund. The company later went public, and police suspect a separate arrangement may have resulted in Bang receiving a substantial payout tied to post-IPO stock profits. Pursuant to the powers conferred on me by the Benue State Chieftaincy Law of 2016 (as amended), Part II Section 7(d), in line with the recognized authority of the Idoma Area Traditional Council (IATC) as the supreme traditional institution within Idoma land, notice is hereby given as follows:


That the purported conferment of chieftaincy titles by the Igede Traditional Council on 6th September, 2025, is in direct violation of the Declaration of the Idoma Area Traditional Council dated 2nd September, 2025, duly signed by Mr. Adegbe Uloko, Secretary of the Council, on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Agaba Idu, Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo John, Och’Idoma V, President, Idoma Area Traditional Council (IATC), and Vice Chairman, Benue State Council of Chiefs.


That such conferments are null, void, and of no legal, customary, or traditional effect.


That the Idoma Area Traditional Council remains the legally constituted and government-recognized traditional authority over the Idoma nation, and any acts contrary to its directives constitute a breach of extant law.


That the general public, government institutions, and traditional stakeholders are hereby notified and directed to disregard the said conferments and accord them no recognition whatsoever.


This pronouncement is made to safeguard the integrity of traditional institutions in Benue State, to uphold due process, and to maintain peace, unity, and order within the Idoma Area Traditional Council.
