 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler.  Enugu Priest killing : Police Arrest 38 Suspects


The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Police Command, CP Mamman Giwa, has ordered the intensification of the ongoing manhunt for the armed men who shot and murdered Rev Fr Matthew Eya.


Fr Eya was shot dead by alleged kidnappers in the night hours of 19th September 2025, along Eha-Ndiagu Eha-Etiti Road in Eha-Alumona community of Nsukka Local Government Area.


This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a release on Sunday.


According to him, “CP Giwa had earlier directed the Udenu Area Commander, alongside Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads of the Command, to fish out the fleeing assailants upon receipt of information on the incident.”


He said as a result, police operatives under the Udenu Area Command’s coverage have arrested thirty-eight suspects, following bush combing and raids of different black spots in the area.
