 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  Enugu Priest killing : Police Arrest 38 Suspects


The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Police Command, CP Mamman Giwa, has ordered the intensification of the ongoing manhunt for the armed men who shot and murdered Rev Fr Matthew Eya.


Fr Eya was shot dead by alleged kidnappers in the night hours of 19th September 2025, along Eha-Ndiagu Eha-Etiti Road in Eha-Alumona community of Nsukka Local Government Area.


This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a release on Sunday.


According to him, “CP Giwa had earlier directed the Udenu Area Commander, alongside Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads of the Command, to fish out the fleeing assailants upon receipt of information on the incident.”


He said as a result, police operatives under the Udenu Area Command’s coverage have arrested thirty-eight suspects, following bush combing and raids of different black spots in the area.
