 El-Rufai to remain in custody as court adjourns bail application to April 14 Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14th. The bail application of the former governor came up before the court today. April 1. The court adjourned the case after listening to arguments from both the defence and prosecution  El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on the fixed date. The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by DSS officials.

 GOVERNOR ALIA ATTENDS THANKSGIVING MASS, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPMENT

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Sunday attended a Thanksgiving Mass at the Holy Ghost Parish, Makurdi, in honor of Hon. Hanmation Mark, Federal Commissioner at the National Assembly Service Commission, who celebrated his 40th birthday anniversary.


In his goodwill message, Governor Alia congratulated the celebrant, describing him as a devoted leader committed to service, community development, and youth empowerment. He commended Mark’s humility and loyalty, recalling his sacrifices in support of the church and the state.


The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal and human capital development, citing ongoing road construction, hospital upgrades, school improvements, flood control measures, as well as new initiatives in artificial intelligence training, skill acquisition, the fashion and shoe-making industries, and the Benue Fruit Industry.


He assured the people of sustained efforts to restore peace and security, with support from the Federal Government, the First Lady, and international partners, while pledging to return displaced persons to their ancestral farmlands.


Hon. Mark expressed gratitude to God for the grace of life at 40, describing the event as a “birthday of gratitude,” and reaffirmed his confidence in the Governor’s leadership, urging continued prayers and support for the administration.
