 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  I just read Mrs Rita Edochie’s plea for Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom and I feel like vomiting,Maybe she did not know what happened in the South East from 2015 to 2025- Joe Igbokwe


A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe has described as unbelievable the call for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.


Igbokwe was particularly reacting to a post by Nollywood Actress, Rita Edochie who pleaded with the Federal Government to consider releasing the secessionist.


In a post on her Instagram page, the actress claimed that Kanu’s release will foster the restoration of peace especially in the South East


According to her, Kanu is “too unique to be in captivity”, claiming that “everything he said from begining to the very end has happened”.


However, Igbokwe in a counter post on Facebook, claimed that he “feels like vomiting” after reading the post.He wrote, 


“I just read Mrs Rita Edochie’s plea for Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom and I feel like vomiting,Maybe she did not know what happened in the South East from 2015 to 2025. This is unbelievable. Mama biko nakpuo be ji. Okwua kariri gi. Alu melu”.
