 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Ibadan very strategic, central to development of Nigeria – Peter Obi


The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, during the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, has declared that Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria.


Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, made this declaration when he paid a visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja.


Our correspondent reports that Obi and some of his associates visited Ladoja at his Bodija residence in Ibadan on Sunday.


Obi was accompanied by the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party in Lagos State in 2023, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Mr Yunusa Tanko, among others.


The delegation arrived Ladoja’s residence around 10:55 am.


Obi while speaking explained that he came to pay homage to the Olubadan-designate because Ibadan is very strategic and central to the political, social and economic development of Nigeria.


Obi noted that Ladoja will bring his wealth of experience as a former senator, governor and business tycoon to lead Ibadan to a enviable positions.


He said, “The visit is about Nigeria, selfless leadership, leadership that is committed in turning out society around.


“Because, Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria. As a former governor, senator, business tycoon, he will have all what he needs to succeed. And I will support him as Olubadan for the sake of one Nigeria.


“Most of the schools in Ibadan, University of Ibadan for example were attended by many people from different parts of Nigeria and they are making it in all areas of human endeavors.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
