 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. IGP COMMENDS DEPOWA PRESIDENT FOR INTRODUCING FULL SCHOLARSHIP TO CHILDREN OF FALLEN HEROES.


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has commended the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) for introducing a landmark initiative to provide full scholarships to children of fallen heroes. The IGP gave the commendation while receiving a courtesy visit from DEPOWA to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.


The President of DEPOWA, Mrs. Oghogho Musa who led other members of the association on the visit themed “Thank You to Our Troops” explained that the scholarship would commence with the commissioning of DEPOWA Future Leaders Academy scheduled for September 2026. She further explained that the scholarship would benefit children of fallen heroes and also bolster national cohesion by admitting children from surrounding communities. Mrs. Musa also appreciated the Inspector-General of Police and praised the sacrifices of police officers in combating violent crimes and contributing to international peacekeeping.


While responding, the IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting life and property, maintaining public order, and safeguarding democracy. IGP Egbetokun emphasized that the NPF remains resolute in fulfilling its constitutional mandate while drawing strength from the support of stakeholders such as DEPOWA and other affiliate associations.
