 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  'It's crazy' - Mbappe equals Henry's France tally


France captain Kylian Mbappe said equalling Thierry Henry's number of France goals at the age of 26 is "crazy". The Real Madrid forward moved level with the Arsenal legend on 51 goals for his country as he scored a brilliant solo effort in the 82nd minute to double France's lead in Friday's 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Ukraine.


It leaves the 26-year-old six goals behind former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud's all-time France record of 57 goals. "Big up to Titi [Henry], but now I want to surpass him," said Mbappe. "It's an honour to equal a player like Henry, everyone knows what he means to us French people, even more so to strikers. He's someone who paved the way, and I have a lot of respect and admiration for him."


Henry was part of the France squad that won the 1998 World Cup on home soil at the age of 20, while Mbappe was only 19 when Les Bleus won the tournament in Russia in 2018. Both are behind Giroud's 137 appearances in France's list of most capped players, with Henry ending his international career with 123 caps and Mbappe currently on 90. France were aiming to defend their status as world champions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and duly reached the final.


Mbappe scored a hat-trick to take the final to penalties, only for his side to lose to Lionel Messi's Argentina. Mbappe is now well on track to surpass Giroud, who retired from international football last year following France's defeat by Spain in the European Championship semi-finals. "The record is getting closer, but it's not something I think about," Mbappe added. "I don't know if it's because I think I can beat it, or because I think there are more important things.


"Reaching this milestone so early is crazy, but I like it. I want to keep going and, above all, win games and titles." Against Ukraine, Bayern Munich's Michael Olise gave Didier Deschamps' side the lead after 10 minutes in their first match in Group D of qualifying for next year's World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
