 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  NCPC BOSS URGES INTENDING CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS TO PRAY FOR NIGERIA AND THE LEADERSHIP PRESIDENT


The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC Bishop Stephen Adegbite has enjoined the intending Christian Pilgrims to Israel and Jordan, comprising Imo and Adamawa states to uphold President Bola Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima as well as the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in prayer while in the holy land.


He made this while addressing the departing intending Christian Pilgrims at the Pilgrims Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.


He revealed that President Bola Tinubu has been very supportive of the cause of Pilgrimage in Nigeria both Christian and Muslim Pilgrimages.


He further urged them to remember Nigeria in prayer while in the Holy Land, as the country marks its 65th anniversary of nationhood.


He emphasised that the Commission would continue to strive for zero abscondment of Pilgrims during the Pilgrimage, hence it has put every mechanism in place to checkmate it.


The third batch of intending Christian Pilgrims landed safely at the Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan, to begin their 10-day Pilgrimage program in Jordan and Israel.
