A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  NEWBORN DUMPED IN AKWANGA BUSH FOUND ALIVE, MOTHER ARRESTED

10th September, 2025

A community in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, was thrown into shock on Wednesday after residents discovered a newborn baby girl abandoned in a bush near Hope Academy Primary School in the A. A. Koto area.

Wrapped in a cloth and left to fate, the tiny girl was found still alive and rescued by passersby, who immediately handed her over to the police.

Investigations revealed that her mother, a final-year NCE student of the College of Education, Akwanga, had dumped the child. She was later traced and arrested with the help of friends and schoolmates.

The heartbreaking incident has stirred anger and sorrow among residents, many of whom described the baby’s survival as nothing short of a miracle. They also decried the growing trend of newborn abandonment, blaming it on economic hardship and social pressures.
