 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired.  NEWBORN DUMPED IN AKWANGA BUSH FOUND ALIVE, MOTHER ARRESTED

A community in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, was thrown into shock on Wednesday after residents discovered a newborn baby girl abandoned in a bush near Hope Academy Primary School in the A. A. Koto area.


Wrapped in a cloth and left to fate, the tiny girl was found still alive and rescued by passersby, who immediately handed her over to the police.


Investigations revealed that her mother, a final-year NCE student of the College of Education, Akwanga, had dumped the child. She was later traced and arrested with the help of friends and schoolmates.


The heartbreaking incident has stirred anger and sorrow among residents, many of whom described the baby’s survival as nothing short of a miracle. They also decried the growing trend of newborn abandonment, blaming it on economic hardship and social pressures.
