 Republic of Congo holds presidential election, internet disruption reported Internet connectivity across the Republic of Congo was disrupted on Sunday as voters cast ballots in a presidential election, global internet watchdog NetBlocks said. Network data indicated a nation-scale disruption to internet access, the watchdog said on X. A similar near-total nationwide internet blackout was recorded during the country’s March 2021 presidential election, lasting about three days, according to NetBlocks. Polls opened at 6 am (0500GMT) in the country’s presidential election and will remain open until 6 pm (1700GMT). More than 2.6 million registered voters aged 18 and above are eligible to cast their ballots.  Nigeria And Angola Strengthen Ties; Sign 13 New Agreements


Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu reiterates Nigeria’s resolve to deepening the strong Nigeria-Angola bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both countries, signaling a strong and renewed partnership. 


This was when Bianca Ojukwu declared open, the 5th session of Nigeria-Angola bilateral economic joint commission in Luanda, Angola.


The minister in a statement points out part of the outcomes at the closing that include: activation of the joint commission, MOUs covering strategic sectors, such as Education, Health, Defence, Banking, Oil and Gas, Aviation, Culture, Youth Development, Media and many more. 


Furthermore, two "twinning agreements" between Nigerian and Angolan states (Bayelsa-Namibe and Nasarawa-Bengo) are also in consideration.


13 out 19 agreements have been finalized and signed by both countries in the session. And 4 working groups have been tasked to streamline future cooperation.
