 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Nigerian National Arrested for Drug Dealing in Polokwane


Polokwane police have arrested a 37-year-old Nigerian national for dealing and possession of drugs worth an estimated R40 000. The arrest took place on Friday, 12 September 2025, at around 10:30.


According to police, the team acted on intelligence about a man allegedly selling illicit substances along Paul Kruger Street. The suspect was approached and searched, leading to the discovery of Crystal Meth, Heroin, and Rock drugs, all packaged in transparent plastic bags.


The drugs, with a combined street value of approximately R40 000, were confiscated, and the suspect was taken into custody.


He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 September 2025, facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.
