The Kogi State Government has intensified efforts to tackle flooding and erosion through new infrastructure projects across the state.

Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said in Lokoja on Saturday that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration is committed to sustainable solutions that ensure safety and improved living conditions.

He noted that new drainage systems in Etahi, Omigbo and Olubojo (Ankpa LGA) are already reducing flood risks by efficiently channeling rainwater.

Fanwo added that the government is also leveraging the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project to strengthen flood control and reclaim degraded land.

According to him, the initiatives reflect the governor’s vision of building resilient communities and proactively preventing ecological disasters.
