 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. She expressed disappointment with the recent governor's visit, which revealed empty offices during working hours, and stressed that absenteeism, lateness, and poor attitudes are unacceptable. ‎ ‎The Head of Service pledged to improve welfare, including fixing ministry vehicles, and mandated that Wednesday 1st April , 2026 will be clean...

Original Anaconda set for 4K release ahead of reboot

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced Thursday that the original 1997 Anaconda will be released in 4K UHD on Dec. 9. The restored version, sourced from the original camera negative, arrives ahead of the reboot’s Dec. 25 release.

The 1997 film starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz, Jonathan Hyde, Kari Wuhrer, and Owen Wilson as a documentary crew navigating the Amazon, guided by Jon Voight’s character on the trail of a giant anaconda. The 4K release includes interviews with director Luis Llosa and co-writer Hans Bauer, deleted and extended scenes, and the original theatrical trailer. Anaconda later spawned the 2004 sequel Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, two Sci-Fi Channel sequels—2008’s Anaconda 3: Offspring and 2009’s Anacondas: Trail of Blood—and the 2015 crossover Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
