Ohio mom insists 'I love my children' as she's sentenced over death of 2-year-old daughter allegedly abused by her fiancé More than a year after the death of her 2‑year‑old daughter, Lilith, Tien Hawkins was sentenced in Ohio for charges tied to the child’s abuse. The 26‑year‑old mother pleaded guilty to child endangerment and child abuse, leading prosecutors to drop more serious counts such as murder and manslaughter.  Judge Brett Spencer accepted a plea deal that gave her five years in prison, with credit for time already served, followed by up to three years of supervision.  During the emotional hearing, Hawkins broke down in tears as her lawyer argued she had been unaware of the abuse allegedly carried out by her fiancé, Brian Moser, while she worked to support the family.  Power & Water Resources Commissioner Commends Governor Soludo for Fulfilling Promises to Aguleri Communities

By Azuka Offor

The Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for addressing longstanding infrastructural and developmental challenges in the riverine communities of Enugwu-Otu, Eziagulu-Otu, and Mkpunando, all in Aguleri.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the Enugwu-Otu General Hospital and several newly constructed classroom blocks and renovated schools across the three communities, Engr. Chukwuemeka described the governor’s intervention as historic and transformative. The visit also included an inspection of the ongoing construction of the road connecting Aguleri Island to the mainland — a long-anticipated project crucial to the region’s accessibility and development.

Engr. Chukwuemeka noted that Governor Soludo has made history by becoming the first sitting governor to visit these communities twice within his first term in office. He commended the governor for fulfilling all the promises made during his initial visit in 2023, emphasizing that the people now feel a renewed sense of belonging and inclusion.

“The people of Enugwu-Otu, Eziagulu-Otu, and Mkpunando are truly grateful. For the first time in decades, they are experiencing the presence of government in a tangible way. We thank His Excellency for keeping his word.”

He reaffirmed the communities’ unwavering support for Governor Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), particularly ahead of the upcoming November 8 political event.
