 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS APC STALWART, AIR VICE MARSHAL TERRY OKORODUDU

 

President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the Delta State Government and the All Progressives Congress over the passing of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Terry  Okorodudu.

indicates that AVM Okorodudu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, passed away on Tuesday, aged 70.

 

It adds, President Tinubu commiserates with the party stalwart's widow, children, Okorodudu family, associates, and friends.

 

The President recognises AVM Okorodudu's significant contributions to APC's fortunes at the state and national levels, including serving as a member of the security committee of his 2023 Presidential Campaign Council.

 

President Tinubu notes the meritorious military career of the retired Air Vice Marshal, who earned his commission as a Nigerian Air Force pilot officer on January 5, 1976.

 

Okorodudu served as Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow, Russia, from February 2006 to July 2009.

 

He was the pioneer Managing Director of Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited (a subsidiary of the Nigerian Air Force) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Harry's Friends Club, a think-tank for good governance.

 

The President notes that AVM Okorodudu was his political ally for many years. He rose to the peak of his career and mentored countless officers. He worked diligently and selflessly for Nigeria. 

President Tinubu prays that Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest and comfort his family.
