 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. Protester arrested for trampling Charlie Kirk's memorial


A protester was arrested Sunday after trampling the memorial for Charlie Kirk outside the Turning Point USA office in Phoenix.

Video of the incident showed a man stepping on flowers and other tributes laid out for the recently killed conservative commentator. Bystanders intervened, with one person in a blue shirt throwing the protester to the ground before security and a police officer arrived. The man was then handcuffed by officers.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the protester as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, who faces multiple charges, including criminal damage and disorderly conduct.

Kirk, a conservative commentator and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed last week during a Q&A at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder in connection with the shooting.

In the days following Kirk’s death, reactions have been sharply divided, with many paying tribute while others have expressed criticism or disrespect.
