Freddie Jackson, R&B Legend Behind “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight,” Dies at 70 R&B has lost one of its most unmistakable voices. Freddie Jackson, the singer whose smooth delivery helped define romantic R&B during the 1980s and gave generations of listeners songs including “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody,” has died. He was 70. Jackson’s death was announced Tuesday, October 6, through his verified Instagram account. According to the memorial shared by his family and team, the singer died Monday night, October 5. The announcement did not disclose a cause of death. “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson,” the statement read, describing the singer as a generous soul who loved his fans, family, friends and music. Protester arrested for trampling Charlie Kirk's memorial


A protester was arrested Sunday after trampling the memorial for Charlie Kirk outside the Turning Point USA office in Phoenix.

Video of the incident showed a man stepping on flowers and other tributes laid out for the recently killed conservative commentator. Bystanders intervened, with one person in a blue shirt throwing the protester to the ground before security and a police officer arrived. The man was then handcuffed by officers.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the protester as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, who faces multiple charges, including criminal damage and disorderly conduct.

Kirk, a conservative commentator and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed last week during a Q&A at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder in connection with the shooting.

In the days following Kirk’s death, reactions have been sharply divided, with many paying tribute while others have expressed criticism or disrespect.
