 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.  Police Probe Murder, Kidnapping and Attempted Murder in Mnyangani Village


Giyani police in the Mopani district are investigating cases of murder, kidnapping, and attempted murder that took place at Mnyangani village on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.


Police members responded to a complaint of murder and, upon arrival, found the lifeless body of a man lying in a pool of blood behind a house with multiple gunshot wounds.


Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been at home with two unknown men when two armed suspects stormed into the yard, opened fire, and fled in an unknown vehicle.


One victim, identified as Themba Shivuri of Mnyangani, was certified dead at the scene by emergency personnel. A second victim was rushed to hospital for treatment, while the whereabouts of the third man remain unknown.


The motive for the attack is still unclear. Police are appealing to community members with any information that could assist in the investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Moses Menyuku at 082 729 0343.
