 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  Police Probe Murder, Kidnapping and Attempted Murder in Mnyangani Village


Giyani police in the Mopani district are investigating cases of murder, kidnapping, and attempted murder that took place at Mnyangani village on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.


Police members responded to a complaint of murder and, upon arrival, found the lifeless body of a man lying in a pool of blood behind a house with multiple gunshot wounds.


Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been at home with two unknown men when two armed suspects stormed into the yard, opened fire, and fled in an unknown vehicle.


One victim, identified as Themba Shivuri of Mnyangani, was certified dead at the scene by emergency personnel. A second victim was rushed to hospital for treatment, while the whereabouts of the third man remain unknown.


The motive for the attack is still unclear. Police are appealing to community members with any information that could assist in the investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Moses Menyuku at 082 729 0343.
