Family and neighbors mourn woman shot by ICE agent after making Minneapolis her home  Before she was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, 37-year-old Renee Good had just dropped her youngest child off at an elementary school in Minneapolis, the city she and her family had recently begun to call home. As Trump administration officials continued Thursday to describe Good as a domestic terrorist who tried to ram federal agents with her Honda Pilot, those who knew her remembered someone very different: a gentle, kind, and openhearted mother, wife, and neighbor. Good, her wife and her 6-year-old son had recently moved from Kansas City, Missouri, to a quiet Minneapolis neighborhood lined with older homes and small apartment buildings. Some front porches were still decorated with pride flags and lingering holiday lights. In the days following her death, neighbors grew weary of media attention. One handwritten sign taped to a front door read, “NO MEDIA ...

TEXAS POLICE GAVE A MAN A RIDE TO THE HOME OF HIS WIFE, WHO HAD A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST HIM DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. FOUR DAYS LATER, HE TOOK HER LIFE.(PHOTO).

Texas Police gave a man a ride to the home of his wife, who had a restraining order against him due to domestic violence. Four days later, he took her life.

This disturbing saga began with the arrest of 55-year-old Frederick Spears on September 17th. Frederick was charged with aggravated assault family violence for an incident that was captured on Ring doorbell footage.

In the video, Frederick can be seen holding a large blade while threatening his stepson Ashton Spears. Frederick was taken into custody and charged for that incident.

Frederick bonded out of jail the next day. An important condition of his release/bond was a restraining order completely banning him from the home of his estranged wife, Mary Spears.

However, upon his release, he asked officers for a ride to pick up his vehicle from the home. Frederick was escorted to the home by an officer with the Arlington, Texas police department. A decision that is now in question in the wake of what followed.

On the morning of Monday, September 22nd, Ashton awoke to find his entire world turned upside down. He had received a cryptic text from Fredrick which read, "I should never came back to help her, but I did not learn my lesson, so the one you all took advantage of and pushed too far returns favor."

This alarming message prompted Ashton to check on his mother, 53-year-old Mary Spears. Sadly, Mary was not okay. Ashton discovered his mother deceased from multiple puncture wounds in the back yard of the family home. Fredrick had entered the yard through a side gate and ambushed Mary ruthlessly, taking her life. Ashton called 911 while fearing for his own life as he did not know where his stepfather was, and he had recently threatened to end Ashton's life also.

Fortunately, Frederick had already fled the premises. He was taken into custody a short while later in Grand Prairie, Texas. As officers closed in on Frederick, he began using the blade on himself.

Officers deployed less lethal rounds and tased Frederick and were eventually able to take him into custody.  Frederick Spears was taken to a local hospital where he is recovering from his self-inflicted injuries.

Frederick Spears is being charged with homicide in the death of Mary Spears.

In the wake of this terrible incident, the Arlington Police Department is now conducting an administrative review of its policies regarding transporting suspects after release from custody.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mary Spears, especially her son.
