 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. THREE-VEHICLE CRASH CAUSES TRAFFIC DISRUPTION ON R81. (PHOTO).


 Three-vehicle crash causes traffic disruption on R81


Traffic has come to a standstill on the R81 road between Munnik and Ga-Sekgopo following a collision involving two trucks and a minibus at about 15h10 this afternoon.


According to preliminary information, the crash occurred when a truck struck a minibus taxi from behind, causing it to slam into another truck ahead. The full extent of injuries has not yet been confirmed.


Law enforcement officers are currently on the scene, managing traffic and securing the area. Emergency Medical Services have been dispatched and are expected to attend to the injured.


Motorists travelling along the R81 are advised to exercise caution, expect delays, and, if possible, use alternative routes.
