 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Nigerians facing evil, Tinubu may be president for life – El-Rufai tells Atiku


Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has warned that Nigeria is facing a major evil ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

El-Rufai warned that President Bola Tinubu may become president for life if Nigerians fail to unite and remove him in 2027.

The key member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, spoke while receiving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during a solidarity visit yesterday evening.

Atiku had visited El-Rufai over his attack by APC-sponsored thugs at the recent inauguration of the ADC in Kaduna State.

El-Rufai said: “It’s a disgrace for people to behave the way they are behaving, it means all the years we were for democracy and NADECO was all fake, a pretense, all the claims we are fighting for, true federalism is all fake.

“This government is trying to centralize everything instead of devolving powers to the lower levels but the some total of this is that we are facing an evil of a large proportion in the history of this country that if we don’t come together to end this Tinubu administration in 2027, Tinubu will try to be our Paul Biya, he would be president for life, all the signs are there, this is how Paul Biya started.

“You are our leader and you have experience in democratic governance. When you and Obasanjo were in power, no man has been imprisoned because he had a different political reason, even Buhari with his military background never did that but here we are facing full fledge.”

The former governor also described Tinubu’s administration as worse than any military regime in Nigeria.

“This is worse than any military regime we’ve ever had, your call that we must unite is a healthy one. I think the people of Nigerians have made up their mind that this government, APC must go,” he added.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
