 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Tinubu will visit Abia State on October 3, 2025, to commission newly rehabilitated P/Harcourt Road


Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has announced that the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt road, Aba, and six other roads would be commissioned by President Bola Tinubu on October 3, 2025.


The governor stated this during the state security fundraising in Aba, adding that his administration has signed necessary documents with Radisson Blu for the commencement of work at the Enyimba Hotel Aba.


He assured that work would soon take off at the project site. Addressing the business community in Aba, during the launch at the Aba Sports Club, Otti, who explained that his government recognises security as the bedrock of development, reiterated that security occupies the centre stage of his administration.


He assured that he would not compromise on issues of security, adding that no kobo of the funds raised or other public funds would be mismanaged under his watch.
