 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. TOBI AMUSAN LAMENTS INFERIOR KITS PROVIDED TO TEAM NIGERIA AHEAD OF WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP.(VIDEO/PHOTO)

“This country will steadily embarrass you’’’- Tobi Amusan laments inferior kits provided to team Nigeria ahead of World Athletics championship


With just few hours to the kick-off of the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, former world champion and women’s 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, has criticized the Nigerian government over the kit provided for herself and other athletes representing the country at the championship.


Amusan voiced her concerns over what she perceived as unprofessionalism and lack of coordination within the federation.


In a video she shared on her Snapchat, Amusan could said unlike other countries that provide their contingents with kits in suitcases, the Nigerian government hands them their own kits in nylon bags with little or nothing significant inside it. 


‘’This country will steadily embarass you. Una come say make people nor switch allegiance? Una never ready. No singlets. Nothing!’’ she said


She further stated that although the Jamaican authorities are also lagging behind with regards providing for their contingents, they are not as worse as their Nigerian counterpart.
