 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  Tragedy in Bauchi: Widow Found Dead on Her Farm


A tragic incident has thrown the Kafin Tafawa community on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis into mourning, following the gruesome murder of a widow, Salomi Benjamin.


Her lifeless body was discovered on her farm, about two kilometers from her residence.


According to her third son, Simeon, Mama Salomi left home for her farm around 8 a.m. but never returned.


Concerned about her whereabout, the family began a search, only to find her dead in the evening, lying lifeless in her farm.


"This time, it is not about a clash between farmers and herders," the source clarified.


Alex Markus, a neighbor to the deceased, described the killing as both tragic and senseless. He praised the prompt response of the Yelwa Divisional Police Officer but urged authorities to intensify efforts in uncovering those behind the heinous act.


At the time of filing this report, the Bauchi State Police Command had not officially commented on the incident, despite efforts to reach them.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
