 ‎ACTDA Urges Proper Housing Planning to Prevent Slums and Build a Livable Awka ‎By Sylvia Tochukwu-Ngige ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎A house without a plan becomes a slum. A city without planning becomes chaos. That is the core message from the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, as Anambra’s population grows. For ACTDA, housing planning is not just about putting up structures. It is about creating safe, affordable, and dignified communities with roads, water, electricity, drainage, schools, hospitals, markets, and security built in from the start. When developers plan first, they avoid the cost of fixing problems later.   ‎ ‎ ‎ACTDA is the government agency in charge of planning, developing, and regulating the Awka Capital Territory.  VP SHETTIMA LEADS NIGERIA'S DELEGATION TO 80TH UNGA IN NEW YORK 


Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly holding in New York, United States of America, between Monday, September 22 and Sunday 28, 2025.


In a Statement by the Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha said Shettima who is scheduled to join other leaders at the global event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations will also join other dignitaries at the high-level general debates from Tuesday, September 23rd to Sunday 28th.


VP Shettima will also deliver Nigeria’s national statement on behalf of President Tinubu on Wednesday, September 24 between 3:00pm and  9:00pm, New York time.


He will attend a special event on Climate for Heads of State and Government to be hosted by the UN Secretary-General on Wednesday, September 24, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, where Nigeria is expected to announce its new Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement.


Vice President Shettima is also slated to attend the high-level roundtable of the Global Champions on Adequate and Affordable Housing to be hosted by the President of Kenya on September 24th and attend to other bilateral meetings and events. 


After the UNGA, the Vice President will leave for Frankfurt, Germany, where he is slated to meet with officials of the Deutche Bank before returning to Nigeria.
