 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. Warner Bros. moves Mortal Kombat II release to summer 2026

Fans of Johnny Cage will have to wait a bit longer to see him on the big screen, as Mortal Kombat II has been pushed from its original fall 2025 release to May 2026. The Warner Bros., New Line, and Atomic Monster sequel was initially scheduled for October 24, but the shift aims to take advantage of the strong performance the studio has seen with early summer releases, rather than reflecting any concerns about the film itself.

The follow-up to 2021’s Mortal Kombat will now hit theaters on May 15, 2026. Karl Urban returns as Johnny Cage, alongside Lewis Tan (Cole Young), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Josh Lawson (Kano), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), Joe Taslim (Bi-Han), Tadanobu Asano (Lord Raiden), and Hiroyuki Sanada (Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion). New additions to the cast include Tati Gabrielle as Jade and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
