Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released from custody in 2025 after his conviction was upheld, with the Supreme Court declining to take up his appeal earlier this year. Warner Bros. moves Mortal Kombat II release to summer 2026

Fans of Johnny Cage will have to wait a bit longer to see him on the big screen, as Mortal Kombat II has been pushed from its original fall 2025 release to May 2026. The Warner Bros., New Line, and Atomic Monster sequel was initially scheduled for October 24, but the shift aims to take advantage of the strong performance the studio has seen with early summer releases, rather than reflecting any concerns about the film itself.

The follow-up to 2021’s Mortal Kombat will now hit theaters on May 15, 2026. Karl Urban returns as Johnny Cage, alongside Lewis Tan (Cole Young), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Josh Lawson (Kano), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), Joe Taslim (Bi-Han), Tadanobu Asano (Lord Raiden), and Hiroyuki Sanada (Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion). New additions to the cast include Tati Gabrielle as Jade and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
